#teamhomegym

I wanted to share a little bit of my “MILF” journey with you all. The good, bad, and the expensive.

So while I was pregnant I still worked out at a gym, went on walks, and went swimming.

I started to think what was I going to do after I have my son? When am I going to have time?

My husband works long hours and I really don’t want to be going to the gym at 10/11 at night, also I was nursing around the clock and didn’t know exactly how I would swing that.

Naturally I just decided working out at home was going to be the only option while my son was little.

I had a ton of home workout DVD’s when I was in highschool and in my early 20’s and loved doing them, and they always kept me in pretty good shape.

I decided to order the beachbody workouts along with their “wonder shakes” shakeology. I was talked into becoming a “coach” for the discount and also to help motivate others. The programs and the shakes were beneficial, I was able to get quick workouts in and the shakes were convenient being a busy new mom. I also ran a couple “challenge groups” to help motivate a few ladies to get in shape. In the end, I ended up spending way more money then I made as a “coach” but when I ran my challenge groups I loved helping others which is now leading to my new career path…(stay tuned!) (it’s not beachbody) (no offence to any BB coaches!)

Anyways, investing in some workout equipment and working out at home while my baby napped or played was really the jumpstart and motivation to get back in fighting shape!

I guess the message I’m trying to get across here is look for solutions and not excuses. Being a stay at home mom can be lonely and it’s easy to forget about your own needs. Finding 30 minutes a day to take care of yourself, is extremely important. When I’m feeling in a funk, which happens (i’m only human!) I get outside, take my baby for a walk, take him to the pool, whatever i can think of just to get us out of the house, get fresh air and some exercise, it makes the biggest difference in my mood and mindset which is so important!

Thanks for reading!
